Trade Together aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the standard referenced both by the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508 in the United States, and by the European Accessibility Act and EN 301 549 in the European Union.
What that means in practice, on this app:
- Keyboard. Everything is reachable with a keyboard alone. Tab strips and view switchers are real radio groups, so ← →, Home and End work and the chosen option is announced.
- Skip to content. The first thing Tab reaches on any page is a link that jumps past the sidebar.
- Reduced motion. Turn the setting on in your operating system and the price flashes, slides and transitions stop.
- Contrast. Text colours are measured against their backgrounds, in both the light and dark themes.

What does not work yet. These are worth knowing before you need them rather than after:
- Price charts are drawn on a canvas and cannot be explored point by point with a screen reader. A summary is provided; the underlying series is not yet available as a table.
- The heatmap conveys size visually. Every tile carries its symbol and percentage as text, but how big a tile is relative to its neighbours is not available any other way. A sortable list equivalent is planned.
- Some data-dense screens scroll sideways on a narrow viewport.
- Images posted by members may have no alternative text, because the person posting supplies it.
